Name: Carina Nebula
Object Information: This false color image shows a portion of the Carina Nebula, a souther sky object in the constellation of Carina the Keel. The Carina Nebula is approximately 7,500 light years away. The area shown in this image shows dark pillars of gas and dust. Two of the pillars show the twin jets of Herbig-Haro objects. The entire Carina Nebula complex is about 300 light years wide.
